John Simpson is bringing a message straight from the Ravens' playbook: toughness, physicality, and offensive-line dominance are back on the menu in Baltimore.

After a standout 2023 season with the team, Simpson recently re-signed with the Ravens—and he says the organization made it crystal clear what they expect from him this time around. During free-agent conversations, Baltimore's coaching staff and front office hammered home one theme: they want to reestablish a more physical identity up front.

"Their main thing was just bringing that tenacity back," Simpson shared during an appearance on The Lounge with Ryan Mink and Garrett Downing. "Just being physical and trying to be a dominant force. That's basically all they were telling me, everything they wanted me to bring to the table."

For Simpson, the message hit home. He knows the Ravens are at their best when they control games at the line of scrimmage—a hallmark of the team's most successful seasons. And he's ready to deliver.

"I was like, 'Hey, look, I'm gonna do everything I can for y'all, man,'" Simpson said. "Because this is like home. The guys in this building are all like my brothers. I got to go crazy for these dudes."

That mentality fits perfectly with what Baltimore wants offensively: a bruising, relentless front that sets the tone from the first snap. With Simpson back in the fold, the Ravens are betting that physicality isn't just a memory—it's the foundation for what's next.
