Despite spending just two years at LSU, Joe Burrow’s legacy is etched in Louisiana’s history. That isn’t just down to his achievements on the field.

Joe Burrow may have only spent two seasons at LSU, but his impact on Louisiana goes far beyond the football field. The former Tigers quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner continues to give back to the community that embraced him, and his recent efforts have earned a major boost from a generous corporate partner.

On May 8, the Joe Burrow Foundation hosted its "Tiger Tee-Off" event at Topgolf Baton Rouge, raising funds to combat food insecurity and support children's mental health initiatives in Louisiana and Ohio—two states that hold special meaning in Burrow's journey. The event received a significant lift when Kroger donated $50,000 to the cause, underscoring the foundation's growing momentum.

The fundraiser featured an impressive lineup of auction items, including a Heisman Trophy-autographed football, a signed jersey from LSU legend and current NFL star Justin Jefferson, a 2019 national championship helmet signed by former head coach Ed Orgeron, and a similar helmet autographed by Burrow himself. The items drew passionate bidding from fans eager to own a piece of Tigers history while supporting a worthy cause.

Burrow was joined in Baton Rouge by his parents, Jimmy and Robin Burrow, as well as Coach Orgeron. In an interview with Jacque Doucet, the Burrows shared what the foundation means to their family. "Football changed our lives," Robin Burrow said. "Now we have the opportunity to change lives through the foundation. That's why we're here—to spread the word, spread the knowledge about what we're doing, and raise money to extend our programs to here in Baton Rouge."

Jimmy Burrow emphasized the credibility his son's name brings to the mission. "Joe's name certainly adds credibility to what we're trying to do," he said. "They understand that if Joe's involved, it's a legitimate foundation. Baton Rouge, Louisiana—the money stays here."

Burrow's 2019 season at LSU remains one of the greatest in college football history. He threw for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns, leading the Tigers to a perfect 15-0 record and a national championship. But as the foundation's work shows, his legacy in Louisiana is about more than just the stats—it's about the lives he continues to touch off the field.
