The excitement surrounding the New York Jets’ draft class didn’t end on draft night. If anything, it’s only growing. Eight new prospects were added, and the adrenaline rush continues.

After selecting tight end Kenyon Sadiq with the 16th overall pick, the Jets believed they were adding a dynamic weapon to their offense. Now, that belief is gaining traction beyond the building, thanks in part to a strong endorsement from Robert Griffin III.

Griffin didn’t just praise Sadiq. He placed him in rare company. You've heard of D.K. Metcalf, right? One would assume you've heard of Michael Jordan. The man affectionately referred to as RG3 drew parallels to both.

When a former NFL quarterback begins drawing high-end comparisons, people take notice. Griffin sees traits in Sadiq that mirror one of the league’s most dangerous offensive weapons, a player who doesn’t just fill a role but redefine how defenses have to respond. Then, he drew a line to Michael Jordan.

"Kenyon Sadiq has the size of DK Metcalf, the speed of OBJ, & the jumping ability of Michael Jordan. He's a mismatch outside & in the slot. He will allow to play 12 & 13 personnel with his positional versatility. Everywhere you line him up, he will deliver."- @RGIII#Jets pic.twitter.com/0AyxgjFHS7

That aligns with what the Jets envisioned when they made the pick. Sadiq enters the league as more than a traditional tight end. They, and most, saw him as a matchup problem. His ability to stretch the field vertically, operate in tight spaces, and create separation against both linebackers and defensive backs gives New York a level of versatility it has been missing.

In today’s NFL, that kind of skill set doesn’t just complement an offense. It can often shape one. Still, comparisons are just the beginning. Sure, they create expectations and invite scrutiny, but there's seemingly no need to place an even brighter spotlight on a player who hasn’t taken a professional snap yet.
