The Jets have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with wide receiver Tim Patrick, per multiple reports.

The New York Jets have reportedly agreed to terms with veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick on a one-year deal, adding experienced depth to a youthful receiving corps.

According to multiple reports, the contract is worth slightly more than the veteran salary benefit threshold of $1.075 million, as noted by The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt. Patrick drew interest from several teams around the league, but the Jets moved quickly to secure his services, valuing him as a culture-setter and a quality veteran presence at a position that could use it.

At 32 years old and entering his seventh NFL season, Patrick will immediately become the elder statesman of a Jets wide receiver room that features Garrett Wilson as the clear No. 1 option. Behind Wilson, New York's depth chart includes AD Mitchell, rookie Omar Cooper Jr., Arian Smith, punt returner Isaiah Williams, Irvin Charles, and several others. Patrick's steadying influence could prove invaluable as this young group develops.

Patrick began his career with the Denver Broncos, where he spent four seasons and enjoyed his most productive years. Between 2020 and 2021, he emerged as a reliable target, combining for 1,476 receiving yards on 104 receptions with 11 touchdowns across 31 games—all starts. His best season came in 2021 when he posted 734 yards and five scores.

The road hasn't been easy for Patrick since then. He missed the entire 2022 and 2023 seasons due to a torn ACL and then a torn Achilles, two devastating injuries that threatened his career. But the veteran showed resilience, returning to action in 2024 with the Detroit Lions before spending last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he caught 15 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games.

For his career, Patrick has accrued 2,590 receiving yards on 191 receptions with 18 touchdowns in 87 games. While he may never return to his peak production, his experience, leadership, and ability to make tough catches in traffic make him a valuable addition to a Jets team looking to stabilize its receiving corps. For fans, this signing signals the team's commitment to building a professional, winning culture—one that starts with veteran leadership in the locker room and on the practice field.
