There isn't a team better situated for the upcoming NFL draft than the New York Jets. They own the No. 2 overall pick and will be able to get one of Arvell Reese or David Bailey. They also own the 16th, 33rd, and 44th overall picks in the first two rounds.

While edge rusher is set to be their first pick, the Jets' next big needs are two positions: cornerback and wide receiver. While CB might not be a Round 1 option, WR very much is in play with the 16th pick. But the Jets might not do something so simple.

According to SNY's Connor Hughes, the Jets have reportedly already been in contact with teams about a trade-up into the top-10, most likely for a wide receiver, with two options in mind.

"After those two, one general manager said there is a 'gap' at the position - which could lead to teams trying to trade into the top 10," Hughes reports. "One source said the Jets have explored that possibility."

With the Jets looking to move up inside the top-10 of the NFL Draft, there are likely two wide receivers that they have in mind.

Ohio State's Carnell Tate and Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson are the two receivers who have received the most top-10 buzz this year.

While USC's Makai Lemon is a fun prospect and has been typically named alongside Tate and Tyson for the big-three WRs of this class, the Jets are more likely to swing such an aggressive trade-up for Tyson or Tate, not Lemon.

The Jets should be able to piece together a compelling offer for a top-10 pick, as they could use the 44th selection to convince a team to move down to 16th overall.

There are some teams worth keeping an eye on, with the New York Giants (No. 10) strongly connected to Tyson, and both the Washington Commanders (No. 7) and New Orleans Saints (No. 8) being linked to Tate often this offseason.

The Jets might have to leapfrog both of those teams for Tate, or just the Giants for Tyson, inside the top-10 picks of the draft. This will be a storyline to follow along with closely in the days leading up to the draft, and especially once the draft starts on Thursday night.
