The future of Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow is uncertain with the team.
For the past few months, there has been major speculation on whether or not this could be Burrow's final season with the team. It's been an array of problems for Burrow and the Bengals, and no one would be surprised if this season is his final in Cincinnati.
A ton of things would need to go wrong for that to happen, and if so, a ton of teams would be in line to make a move for Burrow. If that happens, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton predicts the New York Jets would trade for the former No. 1 overall pick.
Moton predicts the Jets are one of five teams that could trade for Burrow if the Bengals' struggles trickle into 2026.
"Gang Green has three first-round picks in the 2027 draft: its own selection, the Indianapolis Colts' pick and the Dallas Cowboys' pick.
"If Cincinnati trades Burrow, it could find his replacement in a potential quarterback-rich draft class with a treasure chest of picks. The Jets may have a top-five selection, but even if they don't, the Bengals can use the draft capital to move up for a prospect"
Burrow's future with the Bengals is certainly a big question mark due to lingering frustration over injury-plagued seasons and lack of playoff success.
While Burrow is still viewed as the franchise's centerpiece, there are some causes for concern. In two of the past three seasons, he's been held to a total of 35 games. Burrow played in eight games last season due to a Grade 3 turf toe injury.
It's been one injury after another for Burrow, and the lack of reinforcements on the offensive line has not helped either.
The Jets have endured their fair share of struggles throughout their franchise history.
Nevertheless, Burrow would immediately be their best player of the century and could serve as a true franchise-altering addition. However, even with a quarterback of that caliber, the Jets would still need significant roster upgrades to become a true contender.
If a trade scenario were to emerge, New York would have enough assets to make a compelling offer to the Bengals.
