Richardson brings a unique skill set that differs from Smith and Klubnik. He possesses one of the strongest arms in the NFL, combined with electrifying rushing ability—a combination that gives him enormous upside. However, his floor is equally low. In 2024, he completed just 47.7% of his passes, throwing for 1,814 yards, eight touchdowns, and 12 interceptions over 11 games. Injuries have also plagued his career, including a freak pre-game accident last season that injured his orbital bone.

For the Jets, trading for Richardson would be a fascinating gamble. They could potentially acquire him with a late-round pick in 2027, but the question remains: is he worth the risk? Last season, the Jets struggled to evaluate their young offensive talent due to inconsistent quarterback play, and adding a polarizing figure like Richardson might not provide the stability needed to develop their skill players.
