Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Jesse Minter is already seeing the right attitude from his rookie class, and he couldn't be more pleased. At the team's recent rookie minicamp, the first-year players didn't just show up—they showed out with a sense of urgency that has the coaching staff buzzing.

"The guys you hope and want to look really good have done that," Minter said, highlighting the early impact of players like offensive lineman Vega Ioane and defensive end Zion Young. "They've met that initial hope and expectation of what you want Vega to look like coming off the ball, or Zion striking a sled or lining up across from people."

While it's only May and the team isn't in full pads yet, Minter emphasized that the physicality will come. What's already undeniable is the mindset. "I really just enjoyed the guys' urgency—their eagerness to want to learn, their eagerness to want to get better. They're learning how we operate, going from drill to drill, and doing the different things we try to do. Overall, I'm really pleased with the whole group."

For the Ravens, early impressions in a rookie minicamp only go so far. But the responsiveness and hunger shown by this draft class—especially from the players expected to make an immediate impact—builds exactly the kind of foundation the team needs. As practices intensify and the physical demands ramp up, sustaining that energy and attention to detail will be the real test.
