Jersey wrapped up their T20 series against Denmark with a hard-fought win and a tough loss in Copenhagen, providing a valuable test ahead of their World Cup qualifying campaign.

The islanders bounced back from a slow start in the opening match to secure a thrilling three-wicket victory with just three balls to spare. Denmark won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a competitive 144-7 in their 20 overs. Shangeev Thanikaithasan led the way with a composed 55, while opener Musa Shaheen Mahmood contributed 28. Jersey skipper Charles Perchard was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with impressive figures of 3-37, supported by Ben Ward's economical 2-19.

Jersey's chase got off to a shaky start as they slumped to 26-3, but a crucial 56-run partnership between Jonty Jenner (29 off 24 balls) and Zak Tribe (35) steadied the ship. The real heroics came from Patrick Gouge, whose blistering 31 not out from just 16 deliveries guided Jersey to 148-7 in 19.3 overs, sealing a nail-biting win.

However, Denmark exacted revenge in the second encounter, dominating from the outset. Jersey's batting lineup struggled again, with the openers falling cheaply to leave them reeling at 42-5 after seven overs. Charlie Brennan and Ben Ward both scored 31 to provide some resistance, but no other batter managed more than 11 as Jersey were bowled out for 118 with 13 balls unused.

Denmark chased down the target with ease, reaching 119-3 in 16.4 overs. Hamid Shah anchored the innings with 44 off 39 balls, while Mahmood added 32 and Sebastian Heath remained unbeaten on 27. Ward's 2-11 was the standout bowling performance for Jersey.

These matches served as crucial preparation for Jersey ahead of the Men's T20 World Cup Europe Sub-regional Qualifier A, which begins later this month in Cyprus. The islanders will be looking to build on the positives from this series as they aim to take the first step toward the 2028 T20 World Cup.
