Jersey RFC's remarkable season may have ended with a single blemish, but the overwhelming feeling on the island is one of immense pride and celebration. Head coach Myles Landick has every reason to be proud of his squad, who fell just short of a perfect campaign but secured something far more significant: the Regional One South Central title and promotion.

The islanders' final match saw a 30-26 home defeat to ninth-placed Wimbledon, snapping a stunning 21-game winning streak. While acknowledging the disappointment, Landick pointed to the costly penalties and cards that ultimately decided the game. "I'm obviously gutted, but if you give away 17 penalties and get two yellow cards you probably don't deserve to win," he told BBC Radio Jersey, crediting Wimbledon's desperate fight to avoid relegation.

However, the focus quickly shifted to the monumental achievement. "I said to the playing group afterwards we've not been relegated, we've won the league, so hold our heads up nice and high," Landick stated. "Not many teams have won 21 games in a row, so we've got to be hugely proud of that."

This victory marks a rapid and impressive ascent for the club. Established in 2022 after splitting from the now-defunct professional Jersey Reds, this is their third promotion in four seasons. They've successfully built a competitive squad, retaining several former Reds players, and now ascend to National Two—the fourth tier of English rugby.

Looking ahead, Landick embraces the challenge with a clear philosophy. Despite entering a semi-professional league, Jersey will remain an amateur side. "There's no pressure on us, there's no expectation," he said, readying his team for the tough battles to come. For now, the mission is clear: celebrate a historic season built on grit, unity, and a near-perfect record.
