Sioux Falls Jefferson girls basketball star Brinley Altenburg announced Thursday, April 23, she has committed to Nebraska women's basketball.

Altenburg is the top-ranked South Dakota recruit in the Class of 2027 by Prep Girls Hoops. The outlet also has her ranked as the No. 65 prospect nationally.

The 5-foot-10 combo guard averaged 18.8 points per game on 45.8% shooting and 32.2% from 3-point range during the 2025-26 season. She led the Cavaliers to an eighth-place finish in the Class AA state tournament.

According to her social media accounts, Altenburg also held offers from Georgia Tech, Oregon, Marquette, Colorado, Arizona State, Wisconsin, Missouri, Oklahoma, Purdue, Michigan State, Kansas, Minnesota, DePaul, Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa, Iowa State, Belmont, Drake, Colorado State, Creighton, South Dakota and South Dakota State.

Altenburg will join Wagner's Ashlyn Koupal at Nebraska, with Koupal set to play her first season for the Cornhuskers in 2026-27 while Altenburg finishes her high school career.
