Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic made headlines on Saturday after joining an exclusive list of NBA playoff duos alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

And just a day later, another modern pairing followed a similar path. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown added their names to a different historic list, one that also includes Jordan and Pippen among several elite combinations.

The Boston Celtics stars achieved the milestone during a dominant playoff performance over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Tatum and Brown reached their 50th playoff game scoring at least 20 points each during Boston’s 123-91 victory over the 76ers in Game 1 of their series, according to NBA official stats.

Brown led the scoring with 26 points, while Tatum added 25, as the Celtics controlled the contest from the opening stages and never allowed Philadelphia back into the game.

The achievement places them in rare territory, highlighting their sustained production across multiple playoff campaigns together.

Within Celtics history, only Larry Bird and Kevin McHale have reached that mark as a duo, doing so 58 times during their dominant era.

The list of duos to reach at least 50 such playoff games includes some of the greatest partnerships in NBA history.

Jerry West and Elgin Baylor lead the way with 74 games, followed by Jordan and Pippen with 68.

Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant recorded 67, Bird and McHale, as aforementioned, sit on 58, and Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant with 56.

Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry have 53, while Tony Parker and Tim Duncan complete the group with 50.
