When a player joins a new team, one of the biggest adjustments is figuring out the locker room dynamic—who sets the tone, who leads by example, and who holds everyone accountable. For new Ravens safety Jaylinn Hawkins, that transition has been remarkably smooth, thanks to Baltimore's standout leadership group.
Speaking on The Collective podcast, Hawkins didn't hold back when asked about the teammates who have made an early impression during OTAs. He singled out All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith as a prime example of the Ravens' winning culture.
"There's a good group of teammates," Hawkins said. "You've got guys like Roquan in the locker room. Good guy. Really good player, but an even better leader. Kyle, Tito, Marlon, Malaki… throughout these days of us working out together, I'm utilizing that time."
The Ravens have long built their identity around accountability, preparation, and veteran presence—especially on defense. For Hawkins, that reputation became real the moment he stepped into the facility. With leaders like Smith anchoring the defense and setting the standard, Baltimore's chemistry and locker-room connection could once again be one of the franchise's biggest strengths heading into the 2026 season.
