The Boston Celticssuffered a horrendous collapse in Game 5 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, scoring just 11 points in the fourth quarter and missing their final 16 field goal attempts.
Jaylen Brown played a major part in the Celtics' crunch-time struggles, missing all six of his field goal attempts in the fourth quarter and scoring just two points. He was also a minus-14 when he was on the floor.
After the game, Brown had a lot to say about the loss and what went wrong for Boston. He also accepted some responsibility for the defeat.
Jaylen Brown on if the Celtics were the harder playing team tonight:"It's tough to say. I feel like we play hard. I also feel like they play hard as well. It just wasn't good enough from us, it wasn't good enough on my behalf. We just got to be better."-@CLNSMedia | Q:… pic.twitter.com/KcT49sTOEC
"It's tough to say. I feel like we play hard. I also feel like they play hard as well. It just wasn't good enough from us, it wasn't good enough on my behalf. We just got to be better," Brown acknowledged during his postgame press conference.
Brown agreed with Joe Mazzulla's assessment that Boston got some open shots in the second half, but just wasn't able to knock them down.
"I thought we got some good looks. We'll take a look at it. But it felt like we got some good looks and we just didn’t knock them down tonight," Brown said. "That’s the name of the game."
The Celtics will try to bounce back in Game 6 on Thursday in Philly, similar to how they rebounded from their last home loss earlier in the series.
"Tonight I feel like they shot the ball better than us, which doesn't happen a lot. But they shot the ball from 3 better than us," Brown added. "We just gotta respond. It's the playoffs."
