Jaylen Brown felt the Boston Celtics demonstrated their typical brand of basketball during Sunday's 123-91 rout over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Boston commenced the playoffs with a wire-to-wire Game 1 win. Brown didn't miss a beat from a stellar regular season, tallying 26 points at TD Garden.

Brown praised his team's tenacious play after the game, via Daniel Donabedian of Clutch Points.

"That was Celtics basketball," Brown said. "We've been the harder-playing team all year. That can't change now that the playoffs have started."

The offense enjoyed another efficient scoring outburst, going 45-of-90 from the floor. Ten different players made at least one three-pointer.

Yet Brown was particularly proud of Boston's defense. The 76ers scored just 18 points in a lopsided first quarter and made just four three-point tries.

Brown feels defense is the key to Boston advancing beyond the opening round.

"It's just focusing in, honing in on details. It's just winning the fight, being the harder-playing team and just guarding," Brown added. "Our offense can't win us this series. I mean, our offense is important, but we got to make sure we guard. And I think tonight we did a great job."

The Celtics will stay at home to host the 76ers this Tuesday. Game 2 tips off at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
