In the aftermath of a heartbreaking Game 7 elimination at home, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown didn't hold back during a candid Twitch stream, taking aim at both Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and the officiating crew.

"Flopping has ruined our game," Brown said, addressing his frustrations just one day after the Celtics' season ended. "Joel Embiid is a great player, one of the best bigs in basketball history... [he] flops. He knows it. This ain't breaking news."

Looking at the numbers, Embiid attempted 37 free throws across four games in the series—averaging over nine per contest. That total surpassed every other Sixer and every Celtic except Brown himself, who played all seven games. While some might see this as evidence of flopping, it's equally a testament to Embiid's aggressive, physical style in the paint and his constant rim attacks, which naturally draw fouls.

Brown's criticism didn't stop there. He specifically called out the referees for what he perceived as biased officiating, particularly regarding offensive foul calls against him for using his off-arm to create space—a move he insists is standard across the league.

"That is such a common basketball play, every player does it. So why are you targeting me?" Brown questioned. "They clearly had an agenda, maybe because I spoke out, you know, I was critical of other refs in the regular season... I've actually spoken to some refs, and they said it was an agenda going into each game, that anytime Jaylen brings his arm up, just from reputation, just call it. But Paul George does the same thing. Jalen Brunson does the same thing. I can go down the list. It's a basketball play."

While Brown's frustration is understandable after such a tough loss, he can likely expect a fine from the league for his comments. And while many drivers do use their off-arm to create separation, Brown's approach is notably more forceful and frequent than most—something the officials may have keyed in on throughout the series.

As the dust settles on this heated Eastern Conference showdown, one thing is clear: the rivalry between these two teams is only getting more intense, and the conversation around flopping and officiating consistency isn't going away anytime soon.
