Is the Celtics' championship window starting to crack? According to NBA legend and longtime Jaylen Brown mentor Tracy McGrady, there may be some serious tension brewing behind the scenes in Boston.

The Celtics' 2025-26 season came to a shocking early end when they blew a 3-1 series lead against the 76ers in the first round, capped by a Game 7 loss without an injured Jayson Tatum. Since then, Brown has been openly critical of the officiating—but McGrady suggests the frustration runs much deeper.

"There's just been a lot of stuff that I've been hearing, just going on with the Boston organization with JB," McGrady said on his podcast alongside Vince Carter. "I think his frustration lies deeply within the organization."

This isn't the first time McGrady has stepped in as a voice of reason for Brown. Back in 2019, when Brown was reportedly considering his future in Boston after a difficult season, McGrady helped talk him through the decision. "He's very intelligent and a guy you suspect would have all the answers," McGrady recalled. "For him to reach out to me... it was heavy on his heart and his mind."

While Celtics president Brad Stevens has denied any internal issues, the timing of McGrady's comments—right after a stunning playoff collapse—has fans wondering if this summer could bring major changes to the roster. For a team that was expected to contend for years, the cracks might be showing earlier than anyone anticipated.
