Jasson Domínguez found himself in some pain on Wednesday, exiting the Yankees‘ 3-0 loss to the Rangers after getting hit by a pitch.

Domínguez took an 89.1-mph Nathan Eovaldi cutter to his elbow in the top of the fourth inning. The Martian initially stayed in the game and ran after a check from a Yankees trainer and Aaron Boone, but he was replaced by Max Schuemann in left field to start the bottom of the frame.

A short while later, the Yankees announced that Domínguez suffered a left elbow contusion. X-rays were taken at Globe Life Field, but Domínguez said the results were inconclusive and will undergo a CT scan on Thursday.

The YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits added that Domínguez saw the Rangers’ team physician.

Domínguez was playing in just his third big league game this season. The 23-year-old, boxed out of the Yankees’ Opening Day roster despite spending the entire 2025 season in the majors, was called up from Triple-A on Monday.

Domínguez’s exit from Wednesday’s game came hours after the Yankees designated Randal Grichuk for assignment. That decision opened a door for Domínguez to be the team’s fourth outfielder, at least until Giancarlo Stanton returned from the calf strain that he sustained in Houston on Friday.
