The OKC Thunder announced Thursday that Jalen Williams has a Grade 1 left hamstring strain. He will be re-evaluated on a weekly basis.
Williams sustained the injury during the third quarter of a 120-107 home win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The Thunder now holds a 2-0 lead in the first-round playoff series.
It's yet another unfortunate setback for Williams, who played in a career-low 33 games during the regular season due to a right shooting wrist injury and a right hamstring strain. He averaged 20.5 points, five assists and four rebounds through OKC's first two playoff games while shooting 61.5% from the field and 50% from deep.
Game 3 will be in Phoenix at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday (NBA and Peacock). It would've been a homecoming game for Williams, who grew up in Gilbert, Arizona.
