Jaishawn Barham is a man of a few words. So much so, in fact, that not once in his two years with Michigan football was he made available to anyone in the media. The first time many in the media had ever even heard his voice was when he had his mandatory podium interview at the 2026 NFL scouting combine earlier this year.
But Barham has a voice, and it can be heard. And it had to have been when he got the call from Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys telling him that he was going to be selected by 'America's team' with the No. 92 overall pick in the third round of the 2026 NFL draft.
The Cowboys released a video from their perspective highlighting the moment that they made Barham their next edge rusher.
While Barham appears to be quite stoic, unsurprisingly, it's interesting to see him get the call from the Cowboys perspective, with Jones and head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealing to him their excitement, while also setting up his future.
Barham originally hailed from Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy, and got his college start playing linebacker at Maryland. He transferred to Michigan in 2024, having played linebacker that year, while dabbling at both linebacker and edge rusher in 2025 for the Wolverines.
