Legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus is expanding his golf course empire with an exciting new project in Palm Beach County, and this one hits close to home—literally.
Introducing NOKOSI, a private, multi-generational club that marks the first development from a newly formed group led by Gary Nicklaus, the Nicklaus family, and TWG Global. This ambitious project breathes new life into the former Sherbrooke Golf & Country Club in suburban Lake Worth Beach, which closed its doors back in 2016.
Construction on the golf course is already underway, with play expected to tee off in late 2026. Clubhouse and amenity construction will follow in fall 2026, transforming the site into a modern golf and wellness destination designed for families to enjoy for generations.
For Nicklaus, now 86, this project carries special meaning. He and his wife Barbara have called Palm Beach County home since 1966. "NOKOSI is very personal to us because it is inspired and driven by our lifelong commitment to family," Nicklaus said. "It is about creating a place where families can come together around great golf, great friendships and a club culture built to last for generations."
With over 425 course designs in more than 45 countries—including 40 in the U.S.—the Golden Bear is no stranger to shaping the world of golf. But NOKOSI represents something new: a strictly private club with limited membership that prioritizes family, quality experience, and long-term relationships over quantity.
This venture also signals a broader business milestone for the Nicklaus family. Partnering with TWG Global—a diversified holding company led by CEO Mark Walter, who has stakes in the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chelsea F.C., and a Cadillac Formula 1 partnership—brings heavyweight backing to the family's long-term vision.
At its heart, NOKOSI is about more than just golf. As the team behind it puts it: "We're building the kind of club where members don't just come to play golf—they come to spend time, connect, and invest in something meaningful."
