An era in Italian curling has come to a close. Team Retornaz, the nation's most successful curling squad, has announced they are parting ways after a remarkable decade-long partnership.

The team, consisting of skip Joël Retornaz, third Amos Mosaner, second Sebastiano Arman, and lead Mattia Giovanella, stated they will "explore new opportunities" following this season. They expressed deep gratitude to their families, staff, sponsors, and fans for the support throughout their "extraordinary journey."

Their legacy is defined by a period of historic dominance. The pinnacle came in the fall of 2023, when Team Retornaz electrified the curling world by winning three consecutive Grand Slam of Curling titles—the sport's most prestigious tour events—to open the season. This incredible Slam run cemented their status as global contenders.

Beyond that spectacular stretch, the team's trophy case includes two World Championship bronze medals (2022, 2024) and two European Championship bronze medals (2021, 2022). The split marks the end of a chapter for the veteran Retornaz, a four-time Olympian at 42, and his younger teammates, who range from 28 to 31.
