The Philadelphia Eagles were awarded the maximum of four compensatory picks last offseason, earning ones for the departures of Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, Mekhi Becton, and Isaiah Rodgers. So let’s take a closer looks at the departure of Rdogers.

The Eagles were awarded a sixth-round compensatory pick for the loss of Rodgers, who signed a two-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings last offseason.

That pick ended up being the No. 215 pick for the Eagles in the 2026 NFL Draft, which was the fourth of their four compensatory picks.

Philadelphia got the No. 98 selection in the third round for the loss of Milton Williams, who signed a four-year, $104 million deal with the New England Patriots. They got the No. 137 selection in the fourth round for the loss of Josh Sweat, who got a four-year, $76 million deal from the Arizona Cardinals.

Then, they got the No. 178 selection in the fifth round for the loss of Mekhi Becton, who signed a $10 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. That was followed by the No. 215 pick for the loss of Rodgers.

The Eagles ended up sending this compensatory pick to the Atlanta Falcons in the Sydney Brown trade earlier this offseason.

In that deal, the Eagles moved up in the fourth and sixth rounds, jumping from No. 122 to No. 114 in the fourth round and from No. 215 to No. 197 in the sixth round while giving up Brown.

Rodgers was a full-time starter at cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings last season, finishing the year with 66 tackles, four pass breakups, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and an interception.

Rodgers was targeted the most of any Vikings cornerback, allowing a 64.6 percent completion rate on 65 targets with a 91.5 passer rating allowed.

He did struggle with missed tackles, having 13 on the year, which was good for a 16 percent missed tackle rate. But he was available for the Vikings and played like an average starter, which was solid for the deal he received.

Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that suffer a net loss of qualifying free agents during the previous year’s free agency period. So 2026 NFL Draft compensatory picks are awarded due to free agents lost in 2025.

Then those players are ranked on the amount of salary, playing time, and a bunch of other criteria and slotted into the end of rounds three through seven.
