Russell Wilson may be hanging up his cleats for a TV job soon.

Is Russell Wilson ready to trade his cleats for a microphone? According to a new report, the 37-year-old quarterback is in "deep discussions" to make a major career pivot—this time, into television. The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reports that CBS is the frontrunner to land Wilson, potentially placing him on The NFL Today, the network's iconic Sunday pregame show.

This wouldn't be Wilson's first taste of the broadcast booth. He previously appeared as a guest analyst on The NFL Today during the New York Giants' bye week last season, showing off the polished persona that's become his trademark. But to make the leap full-time, he'd likely need to hang up his helmet after 14 NFL seasons.

Wilson's career has been a rollercoaster. A former third-round pick, he defied expectations by making 10 Pro Bowls and leading the Seattle Seahawks to a stunning Super Bowl victory in 2014—one of the league's greatest underdog stories. But the last four years have been tough. Stints with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants saw his performance decline, and starting opportunities have dried up. Currently a free agent, the only reported interest comes from the New York Jets, who already have his former teammate Geno Smith as QB1.

If Wilson does make the switch, he'll need to dial back the rehearsed, robotic press conference style that often drew criticism. To succeed on TV, he'll have to let his authentic self shine through—something that could be as challenging as any fourth-quarter comeback. For now, fans are left wondering: will "Mr. Unlimited" find a new home on Sundays, just from a different seat?
