Will Jalen Williams play in Game 2 against the Los Angeles Lakers? Here's what we know.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been rolling through the 2026 NBA Playoffs, but they're doing it without one of their key stars. Jalen "J-Dub" Williams remains sidelined for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers, leaving fans wondering when the versatile guard will return to the court.

Williams has been out since suffering a Grade 1 left hamstring strain on April 22 during the first round against the Phoenix Suns. He played in the first two games of that series before being forced to watch from the bench as the Thunder completed a dominant sweep. Now, with Oklahoma City holding a 1-0 series lead over the Lakers after a convincing 108-90 victory in Game 1, the team is once again listed Williams as out for Game 2, according to the latest NBA injury report.

The 25-year-old averaged 17.1 points and 5.5 assists during the regular season, shooting 48.4% from the field. His absence is notable, but the Thunder have proven they can thrive without him. In five playoff games this year, Oklahoma City is outscoring opponents by an average of 17.4 points per game—a testament to their depth and resilience.

Williams' injury history this season has been a concern, as he played in just 33 regular-season games due to two wrist surgeries and two hamstring strains. When healthy, his plus/minus of +6.9 shows just how impactful he is on both ends of the floor. Adding him back into the lineup would only make an already dangerous Thunder team look nearly unstoppable.

For now, Thunder fans will have to be patient. The team has shown they can handle business without J-Dub, but his return could be the spark that pushes Oklahoma City over the top in their quest for a championship. Game 2 tips off tonight, and all eyes will be on how the Thunder adjust once again.
