The Edmonton Oilers certainly don't want to be without their captain on Tuesday night with their season on the line.

The Anaheim Ducks hold a 3-1 series lead, and injury has left Connor McDavid's status in doubt for Game 5.

The Oilers have only won one game all year in which McDavid didn't record a point -- that was actually Game 1 of this series. They didn't do it the entire regular season.

An Edmonton team with no McDavid on Tuesday night would be in a really tough spot.

McDavid's status is still up in the air for Tuesday night.

McDavid wasn't at the Oilers' morning skate on Tuesday.

When head coach Kris Knoblauch was asked about it by reporters, he said McDavid is a game-time decision for Game 5 against the Ducks.

Elsewhere in the forward group, Jason Dickinson is also a game-time decision.

It's hard to believe McDavid would miss action in a game like this unless he's really, really hurting.

There's also uncertainty about what his injury actually is, but hockey teams aren't particularly forthcoming with such information.

There'll likely be reports about half an hour before the game about whether McDavid has taken the ice for warmups. Until then, some suspense and mystery.
