The 2026 Indian Premier League final is heading to Ahmedabad's iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, after a last-minute venue change from Bengaluru. Organizers cited "certain requirements from the local association and authorities that were beyond the scope of BCCI's established guidelines and protocols" for the switch.

This powerhouse venue—one of the largest cricket grounds in the world—is no stranger to high-stakes action. It hosted the IPL finals in 2025, 2023, and 2022, along with the 2023 50-over World Cup and the T20 World Cup earlier this year. For fans, the move means the season's biggest match will unfold under the stadium's massive floodlights, promising an electric atmosphere.

The playoff schedule is locked in: the first qualifier kicks off on May 26 in Dharamshala, followed by the eliminator and second qualifier in New Chandigarh on May 27 and 29 respectively. The final, just four days before England's first Test of the summer against New Zealand at Lord's, adds extra spice for fans tracking players like Jacob Bethell and Jofra Archer—both currently in the IPL play-off hunt with Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals.
