The Gujarat Titans delivered a statement performance in Jaipur on Saturday, crushing the Rajasthan Royals by 77 runs to notch their fourth consecutive IPL 2026 victory. Powered by Shubman Gill's dazzling 84 and Rashid Khan's vintage four-wicket haul, the Titans now sit level on 14 points with table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad, making their playoff ambitions look increasingly realistic.
Asked to bat first on a flat Sawai Mansingh Stadium pitch, the Titans produced their highest total of the season—229/4. Captain Shubman Gill anchored the innings with a masterful 44-ball knock, laced with nine boundaries and three sixes. Even a brief bout of discomfort in his left foot couldn't slow him down, as he dominated the Rajasthan bowling attack from the outset. Gill found an ideal partner in Sai Sudharsan, whose fluent 55 continued his rich vein of form. Together, they built a massive 118-run opening stand, racing past 100 inside nine overs and completely seizing control of the Powerplay.
Rajasthan's bowling struggled to find answers. Jofra Archer had a particularly tough outing, leaking 18 runs in the opening over—including five wides—and finishing with 46 runs conceded from just three overs. Sudharsan punished any width on offer, while Gill showcased elegant strokeplay all around the ground. Though young Yash Raj Punia broke through by dismissing Sudharsan, the Titans never lost momentum. Washington Sundar smashed an unbeaten 37 off 20 balls late in the innings, and Rahul Tewatia added two sixes in the final over to push the total beyond 220.
Chasing 230, the Royals came out swinging thanks to 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The teenager smashed the very first ball of the innings for six and continued his fearless assault with a blistering 36 off 16 balls, including three fours and three sixes. At 62/2 after five overs, Rajasthan looked firmly in the contest, with Dhruv Jurel also contributing positively. But then Rashid Khan happened.
The Afghan spinner produced a vintage spell of 4/33, ripping through the middle order and leaving the Royals in disarray. His variations in pace and flight proved too much for Rajasthan's batters, who collapsed from a promising position to 152 all out. The Titans' fielding was sharp, and the pressure built by Rashid proved insurmountable. It was a performance that reminded everyone why Rashid remains one of the most feared bowlers in T20 cricket—and why the Titans are looking like genuine title contenders.
