Two consecutive playoff losses in a first-round “Best of 3” series put the brakes on the 2026 Plaquemine Green Devil season during the weekend at Iowa.

Here’s a look at the two postseason contests for PHS.

Plaquemine took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but five Iowa runs in the in the bottom of the second propelled the Yellow Jackets to a 10-7 win in

The Green Devils came out strong in the first inning when Christian Boudreaux scored after Javion Pinkney advanced to third on a Reese Laprarie single to left field.

A Chris Lee walk on the next at-bat paved the way home for Javion Pinkney, who scored on a passed ball. Landon Devillier — who reached first on a line drive to second — scored the third run off a Mason Goff ground-out to second.

Two runs, three in the fourth and one each across the last three innings eliminated the Green Devils in an 8-0 loss.

Boudreaux, Laprarie, Lee and Slake Sparks each had hits for the Green Devils. PHS finished with four hits and three errors.

Two runs in the second and another three in the fourth set the pace for the Yellow Jackets' win.
