Iowa basketball fans, get ready for an exciting offseason. Both the men's and women's programs are making moves, and head coaches Jan Jensen and Ben McCollum have plenty to share about what's ahead.

For the women's team, Jensen is still focused on building a championship-caliber roster for the 2026-27 season. Speaking at a Polk County I-Club event on May 6, she revealed plans to add two more players—ideally a point guard and a longer guard or wing. This comes after an already impressive haul of four newcomers, headlined by five-star recruit McKenna Woliczko, the lone high schooler in the class.

The Hawkeyes have also reloaded through the transfer portal with three key additions: Dani Carnegie, Amari Whiting, and Jocelyn Faison. Carnegie, a 5-foot-9 guard from Georgia, is generating serious buzz. After averaging 17.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game while shooting over 35% from three-point range, she's being compared to none other than Iowa legend Caitlin Clark.

"Ever since Caitlin, making a play when everything breaks down," Jensen said. "Dani Carnegie is just kind of a playmaker. She's a lot more vocal. She was one of the top scorers in the SEC. I think she's really going to help us."

The connection doesn't stop there. Carnegie will reunite with current Iowa guard Chit-Chat Wright, her former teammate at Georgia Tech. Jensen sees this as a game-changer, allowing Wright to play off the ball more and maximize her 44% three-point shooting. "Now I can free up Chit-Chat," Jensen explained. "If I can get her off the ball and able to light it up a little bit more, I think we can have a pretty good scoring one-two punch."

With a mix of elite high school talent and experienced transfers, the Hawkeyes are shaping up to be a force next season. Whether you're stocking up on gear for game day or just following the action, this is a team you won't want to miss.
