Kyra Lambert can now claim she is a WNBA player. She discussed that milestone, and more, with Swish Appeal.

Kyra Lambert's basketball journey has been a testament to perseverance, and this season she reached a monumental milestone: becoming a WNBA player. After signing a 7-day hardship contract with the Indiana Fever in August 2025, the former Duke and Texas standout officially made her debut, etching her name into the league's history books.

While her first WNBA minutes were brief, they represented the culmination of a long and determined path. That same relentless drive was on display just weeks later when Lambert took the court for the Slovakian National Team, having recently become a naturalized citizen. In EuroBasket Women Qualifiers, she quickly proved her value, averaging 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while helping Slovakia advance to the next qualifying round.

Her impactful play in Europe is nothing new. Lambert most recently showcased her skills for Basket Lattes Montpellier in France, logging significant minutes in the competitive EuroCup Women and teaming up with future WNBA talent like the Connecticut Sun's Nell Angloma. This international experience has been crucial in shaping her versatile, team-first game.

Now, with the taste of the WNBA still fresh and a key role on a rising Slovakian squad, Lambert's story is one of seizing every opportunity. Her journey from collegiate star to international competitor and now a WNBA athlete is a powerful reminder that dedication and resilience can turn dreams into reality, one hard-earned minute at a time.
