Inter Milan's summer transfer plans are heating up, and a major midfield target is back on their radar. Despite a failed attempt last year, the Nerazzurri are preparing a fresh assault to sign French midfielder Manu Koné from Roma.

Manager Cristian Chivu sees the dynamic 23-year-old as the perfect profile to bolster his engine room, pushing the club's directors to craft a creative offer. To sweeten the deal for Roma, Inter are reportedly considering including a player in the exchange.

While Davide Frattesi's name had been linked, the latest reports suggest defender Benjamin Pavard could be the key. The experienced French international, currently on loan at Marseille, is expected to leave San Siro and could provide vital cover for a Roma defense facing potential departures.

The proposed package is rumored to be valued around €25 million plus Pavard, whose market price is estimated at €15 million. However, negotiations are complex, with Pavard's substantial salary of €6.6 million per season presenting a significant hurdle to clear for any agreement.
