Instant predictions for 49ers’ 2026 slate

The San Francisco 49ers' 2026 schedule is here, and it's shaping up to be a thrilling ride. Let's break it down game by game and see how many wins we can expect from this powerhouse team.

FanDuel Sportsbook has set the 49ers' win total at 10.5, with the over priced at +115 and the under at -135. In my predictions, I'm leaning toward the over—I believe this squad has at least one more win in them. Full disclosure: I'm a die-hard fan, but I'll do my best to keep the homerism in check.

Week 1: vs. Los Angeles Rams (in Australia)
The season kicks off Down Under, with the Rams as the nominal "home" team. The Faithful travel well, so this should feel like a neutral field. It's a bit of a shame to start the season overseas, but better to get it out of the way early. Brock Purdy missed last year's matchup with the Rams, but now he's got a much stronger supporting cast. Expect the usual offensive fireworks between Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan. Unfortunately, I think the Rams edge this one out in a nail-biter. Prediction: Loss (0-1)

Week 2: vs. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are in full retool mode after Mike McDaniel's departure. They have question marks across the roster, while the 49ers look stronger at nearly every position. This should be a comfortable win for San Francisco. Prediction: Win (1-1)
