The Kansas City Chiefs loaded up their backfield this offseason, signing Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III in free agency and drafting former Nebraska star Emmett Johnson in the fifth round. But according to Chiefs Senior Team Reporter Matt McMullen, there's another name fans should keep an eye on: undrafted rookie running back Jaydn Ott.

In a recent video shared on Twitter, McMullen highlighted Ott as a potential breakout candidate during Kansas City's spring workouts. The former Oklahoma Sooner may have gone undrafted, but his college résumé tells a different story. Just a few years ago, Ott rushed for over 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns at Cal in 2023—numbers that would turn heads in any backfield. He also brings return experience, adding versatility to his game.

Of course, making the Chiefs' 53-man roster won't be easy. With Walker and Johnson expected to play key roles in Andy Reid's offense, Ott will need to impress the coaching staff during training camp to earn his spot. If he doesn't make the final cut, don't count him out just yet—fans should expect him to be a priority practice squad signing.

For Chiefs fans looking for an under-the-radar story this offseason, Jaydn Ott is a name worth remembering. Whether he carves out a role on Sundays or waits for his opportunity, his college production and special teams potential make him a player to watch.
