For the second consecutive season, La Liga will be represented in the UEFA Conference League final—and this time, it's the turn of Rayo Vallecano. The Madrid-based side delivered a masterclass in composure and determination, securing their spot in the showpiece event with a gritty 1-0 victory over Strasbourg in the second leg at the Stade de la Meinau, sealing a 2-0 aggregate win.

After Alemao's crucial first-leg goal in Vallecas, Rayo entered the match with a slim advantage—but they didn't just sit back. Inspired by head coach Inigo Perez's bold tactics, they attacked from the start, showing no fear on French soil. Alemao forced an early save from Strasbourg goalkeeper Mike Penders, while Pacha Espino also came close to opening the scoring on the night.

The stats tell the story of Rayo's dominance: the first 15 shots of the match belonged entirely to the visitors. And it was the 15th attempt that finally broke the deadlock just before halftime. Florian Lejeune's powerful volley was brilliantly saved by Penders, but Alemao was quickest to the rebound, tapping home to double Rayo's aggregate lead and make it goals in both legs against Strasbourg.

Rayo's defense stood firm for most of the match, and when Strasbourg finally breached their lines, goalkeeper Augusto Batalla rose to the occasion. His finest moment came in stoppage time, when Oscar Valentin was penalized for handball in the area. Strasbourg's Julio Enciso stepped up to take the penalty, but Batalla guessed correctly and denied the spot-kick, preserving Rayo's clean sheet and sealing their historic triumph.

This marks Rayo Vallecano's first-ever European final—a monumental achievement for the club. Standing between them and glory are Premier League side Crystal Palace, who overcame Shakhtar Donetsk in the other semi-final. The two teams will clash at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig on May 27. But before that, Los Franjirrojos have La Liga business to attend to, with their eyes firmly set on making history in Germany.
