IndyCar has found a new home in the Lone Star State, and it's here to stay. The Grand Prix of Arlington is officially returning for a second season in 2027, following a highly successful debut that has race fans and drivers alike buzzing with excitement.
After the inaugural race—won by Andretti Global's Kyle Kirkwood in a thrilling March showdown—IndyCar will hit the streets of Arlington again on March 21, 2027. The 14-turn, 2.73-mile street circuit, the longest of IndyCar's six street courses on the 2026 schedule, earned rave reviews from drivers and teams. That positive feedback made the announcement feel less like a question and more like a formality.
The race is the result of a powerful partnership between Penske Entertainment (IndyCar's parent company), the Dallas Cowboys, and REV Entertainment, the official events partner of the Texas Rangers. Together, they transformed Arlington into a motorsport destination, and the numbers back it up: over 20,000 fans packed the grandstands, while 1.336 million viewers tuned in on Fox. It marked IndyCar's triumphant return to Texas after Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth was dropped from the schedule following the 2023 season.
Bill Miller, president of the Grand Prix of Arlington, summed up the momentum perfectly: "From the sold-out grandstands to the incredible support from our fans, partners and the Arlington community, the response to the inaugural event was exceptional. Building on the momentum from this first year, 2027 will deliver more enhancements and memorable experiences for our guests."
For fans eager to secure their spot, the event's official website opened for future updates and ticketing just one day after this year's checkered flag. With a bright future ahead and a street course that already feels like a classic, the Grand Prix of Arlington is quickly becoming a mainstay on the IndyCar calendar.
