IndyCar's Grand Prix of Arlington will return to Texas for a second season after a successful inaugural race.

IndyCar has found a new home in Texas, and it's here to stay. The Grand Prix of Arlington will roar back to the streets of Arlington for a second season in 2027, following a wildly successful debut that has left fans, drivers, and organizers buzzing with excitement.

The inaugural race, held this past March, saw Andretti Global's Kyle Kirkwood take the checkered flag on a challenging 14-turn, 2.73-mile street course—the longest of IndyCar's six street circuits on the 2026 schedule. The course, which weaves past iconic venues like Globe Life Field and AT&T Stadium, earned rave reviews from the paddock for its unique layout and high-speed thrills. It's no surprise that just one day after the green flag dropped, the event's website was already inviting fans to sign up for updates on future races and tickets.

"From the sold-out grandstands to the incredible support from our fans, partners, and the Arlington community, the response to the inaugural event was exceptional," said Bill Miller, president of the Grand Prix of Arlington. "Building on the momentum from this first year, 2027 will deliver more enhancements and memorable experiences for our guests."

The numbers back up the hype: over 20,000 fans packed the grandstands, while 1.336 million viewers tuned in on Fox, marking a triumphant return for IndyCar to the Lone Star State. The series had been absent from Texas since removing Texas Motor Speedway from the schedule after the 2023 season. Now, with the Grand Prix of Arlington set to return on March 21, 2027, the series has found a vibrant new venue that blends the energy of street racing with the spirit of Texas.

Penske Entertainment, IndyCar's parent company, teamed up with the Dallas Cowboys and REV Entertainment—the official events partners of the Texas Rangers—to bring this race to life. The partnership has already proven to be a winning formula, and with the announcement of a second season, the future of open-wheel racing in Arlington looks brighter than ever. Whether you're a die-hard fan or new to the sport, mark your calendars: the streets of Arlington are ready to host another unforgettable weekend of speed.
