With the regular season just around the corner, Fever head coach Stephanie White gave key updates on some injured players.

As the Indiana Fever put the finishing touches on a dominant preseason—crushing the Nigerian national team 105-57 on Saturday—the team's focus now shifts to the regular season opener against the Dallas Wings, just days away. With championship expectations riding high on a roster blending seasoned veterans and rising stars, the biggest question mark remains health.

Last season, injuries plagued the Fever at every turn, derailing momentum just as the team found its rhythm. Yet even with those setbacks, Indiana pushed the eventual WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces to overtime in a thrilling Game 5 of the semifinals. Now, as the 2026 season tips off, the Fever are determined to leave those injury woes in the rearview mirror.

Head coach Stephanie White addressed the media after Saturday's win, providing crucial updates on a few key players. The first concern: veteran forward Monique Billings, who left the game in the first quarter after tweaking her ankle when landing on an opponent's foot under the basket. "We have an opportunity, as with most ankle tweaks, to reevaluate tomorrow and see where she is," White said, noting that Billings herself insisted she'll be fine. An official update is expected later this week after further testing.

White also shared an update on guard Lexie Hull, who has been dealing with nagging issues. While the coach had hoped Hull might see limited action on Saturday, the decision was made to play it safe. "With some of those naggy things, if it's not necessary, then we'll take the cautious route," she explained.

As the Fever lace up for a season filled with promise, staying healthy will be the key to turning potential into a championship run. Fans can expect more clarity on Billings and Hull's statuses as the opener approaches.
