Liverpool have reportedly placed a Premier League boss on their shortlist as a potential replacement for Arne Slot this summer, with the Dutchman's position at Anfield looking increasingly precarious.

According to The i Paper, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is among the names being considered by Liverpool's hierarchy. Slot has come under intense scrutiny following a disappointing season that has seen the Reds struggle for consistency despite significant investment in the squad.

Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford marked Liverpool's 18th loss of the campaign, and there's a growing sense that the team has failed to show meaningful improvement. The Reds have found it difficult to control games throughout the season, leading many to believe a change in the dugout is overdue.

Liverpool's sporting director Richard Hughes is well acquainted with Iraola's qualities—he was the one who brought the Spaniard to Bournemouth in the first place. And with Iraola set to leave the Cherries at the end of his contract this summer, he becomes a prime candidate for clubs seeking new leadership.

Iraola is making history in his final weeks at the Vitality Stadium. Since the club confirmed on April 14 that he would depart at season's end, the Spaniard has guided Bournemouth to an extraordinary 15-match unbeaten run—the longest active streak in the Premier League. A commanding 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace on May 3 lifted them into sixth place and the European qualification spots, putting them on track for their first-ever continental adventure.

With a record 56 points already secured in the 2024/25 campaign and a 45% win rate that has transformed Bournemouth into genuine top-six contenders, Iraola has become one of Europe's most sought-after managers. Crystal Palace have identified him as their primary target to replace Oliver Glasner, while Chelsea are also reportedly monitoring the situation following their Champions League exit.
