Promotion to the Championship is not not enough for a Lincoln City side that also wants the League One title, says Imps striker Rob Street.

Promotion is secured, but the mission is far from over for Lincoln City. After clinching a return to the Championship for the first time in over six decades, striker Rob Street has made it clear that the Imps are now setting their sights on the League One title, refusing to settle for second best.

The historic promotion was sealed with a victory at Reading on Monday, extending the club's remarkable unbeaten league run to a record 24 games. This incredible consistency has not only guaranteed a place in the second tier but has also positioned Lincoln perfectly for a shot at the championship crown.

With five games remaining, the opportunity is now tantalizingly close. A win against Leyton Orient this Saturday, coupled with a loss for second-placed Cardiff City, would put Lincoln on the brink of glory, opening a massive 15-point gap at the summit.

"We don't want to settle for what we have achieved so far, albeit that is a massive achievement," Street told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. "We want to go one step further and we are in a really good position to do that."

The Imps' relentless form has been the story of the season. Their last league defeat was all the way back on November 22nd, and they have since racked up 19 wins in those 24 unbeaten matches. This dominant stretch has them poised to join an elite group—clubs like Birmingham City and Plymouth Argyle—who have surpassed the 100-point mark in a promotion and title-winning campaign.

As the season reaches its climax, Lincoln City isn't just playing out the fixtures. They are chasing history, driven by a quiet confidence and a determination to finish the job they started. "There is a lot still to play for," Street added. "There are those targets that we want to continue to tick off and records to beat." The final push for the title is officially on.
