In a moment that blended politics with prize fighting, UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria didn't hold back when he got face-to-face with President Donald Trump at the White House.

The reigning 155-pound king, alongside interim champion Justin Gaethje and former two-division champ Alex Pereira, visited the Oval Office on Wednesday ahead of their highly anticipated bouts at UFC Freedom Fights 250. This unprecedented event is set to take place on June 14 on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., celebrating both the U.S. 250th anniversary and Trump's 80th birthday.

But the real fireworks came when Topuria, who represents both Georgia and Spain, looked Trump in the eye and asked why the President wanted to see Gaethje face his toughest test. The question sparked a lively exchange between the three men, with Gaethje jumping in to defend his position. "Because he knows that's what I want," Gaethje fired back, as Trump nodded in agreement. "I want to give the hardest test, that's right," the President replied.

For Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC), this marks his return to the octagon after claiming the vacant lightweight title with a stunning knockout of Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 last June. The 29-year-old took time off to handle personal matters but remains on a tear, having already dispatched Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway, and Oliveira in devastating fashion.

Gaethje (27-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) is chasing undisputed gold for the third time in his storied career. "The Highlight" earned his second interim title by handing Paddy Pimblett his first octagon loss at UFC 324 in January, and he's won four of his last five fights overall.

With the White House as the backdrop and tensions already simmering, this fight week is shaping up to be one for the history books.
