WINONA LAKE — Grace College men’s basketball is on a historic run. The Lancers have won 29-or-more games in a season and have reached the NAIA Nationals Elite Eight in four consecutive seasons with a Final Four berth in 2023-24. That was the same season that Ian Raasch made his collegiate debut following a star-studded career at NorthWood High School. Two years later, and Raasch is a NAIA ...

The Grace College Lancers are building a men's basketball dynasty in the NAIA, and junior forward Ian Raasch is now a central part of that legacy. The program's historic run—featuring four straight Elite Eight appearances and a recent Final Four berth—has been amplified by Raasch's own rapid ascent from a heralded high school star at NorthWood to a First Team All-American.

Raasch learned of the prestigious honor in a memorable, low-key fashion. "Coach [Scott] Moore told me; that was the first time that I had heard about it," Raasch shared. "We were chatting and then he said that he had found out... it was pretty cool." The award marks the third consecutive year a Lancer has earned First Team honors, following in the footsteps of recent standouts Elijah Malone and Ian Scott.

His on-court performance left little doubt. This season, Raasch was a model of consistency, starting all 33 games and averaging 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists for a Lancers squad that finished 31-4. Despite the gaudy numbers, the honor still came as a surprise. "I hadn't put much thought into it to be honest," he admitted. "It was definitely a cool moment and I definitely wasn't expecting it."

With no seniors on this year's roster, Raasch's leadership and 11-point performance in the Elite Eight were crucial. Now, his focus shifts to an exciting future. While he's seen former teammates Malone and Scott transfer to Division I programs, Raasch is committed to leading Grace's charge next season. "I'll be at Grace," he confirmed, excited to "run it back with the same 15 guys" and make another deep postseason run.

That decision also means another year playing alongside his younger brother, Tyler, a freshman this past season—a rare opportunity the duo cherishes. For now, Raasch's story is one of individual excellence fueling a team's collective ambition, with the promise of even greater chapters to come for both the player and the program.
