The Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team is making noise on the national stage, earning the #4 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament. This prestigious seeding not only reflects the Huskers' dominant season but also guarantees them the home-field advantage they've earned—Lincoln will host the first two rounds of tournament play at Rhonda Revelle Field in Bowlin Stadium.

Action gets underway this Friday, May 15th, at 5:30 p.m. CT, when the Huskers take on the Summit League champion South Dakota Coyotes (20-34-1). South Dakota punched their ticket by edging out UNO 2-1 in a thrilling conference title game. The matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN+, giving fans everywhere a chance to watch Nebraska begin its postseason journey.

The Lincoln Regional bracket is packed with intriguing storylines. Before the Huskers and Coyotes face off, the Louisville Cardinals and Grand Canyon Antelopes will open regional play at 3 p.m. CT on Friday. Louisville enters as the #2 seed, while Grand Canyon rounds out the bracket as the #3 seed. With a top-8 national seed, Nebraska is also guaranteed a host spot for the NCAA Super Regional the following weekend, should they advance. If both teams win their regionals, the Huskers could face national #13 seed Oklahoma State (38-15) in a best-of-three Super Regional showdown in Lincoln—a matchup that would feature Omaha native Ruby Meylan likely in the circle for the Cowgirls.

This marks Nebraska's 28th NCAA Tournament appearance and the 24th under legendary Head Coach Rhonda Revelle, whose tenure ranks fifth among active coaches at their current schools. The Huskers' tournament pedigree is impressive: they rank 14th all-time in NCAA Tournament appearances, 20th in wins (69), and 15th in Women's College World Series appearances (7). Notably, this is the fifth time Nebraska has hosted an NCAA regional and the first since 2013—the same season the Huskers last made a run to the Women's College World Series.

For fans eager to be part of the action, tickets for the 2026 Lincoln Regional go on sale to the public today, Monday, May 11, at 3 p.m. CT. Nebraska Athletics donors will have early access before the public sale begins. Don't miss your chance to cheer on the Huskers as they chase a return to Oklahoma City and the Women's College World Series.
