Huddersfield Giants winger Sam Halsall has been ruled out for up to four months with a partial tear of his Achilles tendon.
The 24-year-old suffered the injury in the first half of last Friday's home defeat by Leeds Rhinos.
The former Wigan man was making his return from a hamstring injury which had sidelined him for seven weeks.
The Giants have won two and lost six of their opening eight Super League games this season and 12th in the table.
