The 70th Jordan Relays delivered a spectacular showcase of speed, endurance, and teamwork, with athletes from across the region laying it all on the line. In the girls' Class 3A Distance Medley, Abington Heights set the pace with a commanding time of 9:53.07, thanks to strong legs from Giada Lovecchio, Aliya Lucarelli, Sofia Mirza, and Anna Pucilowski. Delaware Valley chased hard for second at 10:04.65, while Valley View rounded out the top three in 10:15.59.
The sprint relays brought their own drama. North Pocono's girls blazed to victory in the 400 Relay, clocking 51.03 behind Alia Rava, Celia DeCesare, Ella Geck, and Pia Zangardi. Abington Heights followed closely at 51.64, with Wallenpaupack taking third in 52.40. In the 1,200 Medley, Honesdale edged out North Pocono with a winning time of 3:00.41, showcasing a balanced attack from Arianna Valerio, Heather Kissolovege, Alexandria Hankins, and Czekai.
Over in the smaller classes, Montrose's girls dominated the Distance Medley, finishing in 10:09.19, well ahead of Western Wayne (10:36.40) and Mountain View (10:54.48). The 400 Relay saw Mid Valley strike gold in 51.56, with Montrose right behind at 51.82. Lakeland's girls took the 1,200 Medley in 3:00.88, holding off a charging Mid Valley squad.
On the boys' side, the action was just as intense. Pittston Area won the Class 3A Distance Medley in 8:26.50, but West Scranton pushed them all the way, finishing just two seconds back at 8:28.40. Abington Heights took third in 8:37.00. The 400 Relay belonged to Valley View, who exploded for a 43.89, edging Wallenpaupack (44.03) and Pittston Area (44.30). Valley View also claimed the 1,200 Medley in 2:30.83, with West Scranton and Scranton rounding out the top three.
In the boys' smaller school division, Riverside turned heads with a Distance Medley win in 8:23.00, outpacing Lakeland (8:27.92) and Susquehanna (8:29.78). Montrose's boys took the 400 Relay in a swift 44.07, with Riverside and Mountain View following. From the first gun to the final lap, the Jordan Relays once again proved why it's a must-watch event for track fans and a perfect reminder that every second counts—whether you're chasing a personal best or the perfect gear for your next race.
