Eddie Howe has reaffirmed that Anthony Gordon remains "committed" to Newcastle United, even as reports swirl over a potential summer move to Bayern Munich. The German giants are reportedly leading the race for the 25-year-old winger, with Arsenal, Barcelona, and Liverpool also linked. But when asked directly about Bayern's alleged talks, Howe kept his cards close to his chest.

"No, none. That is not something I'm involved in," the Newcastle boss said at his pre-match press conference, ahead of Sunday's trip to Nottingham Forest. It's a classic case of transfer window season—where the rumor mill is in full swing, but the manager's focus remains firmly on the pitch.

Howe had previously set a clear standard: only players who are "100 per cent" committed will feature for the Magpies. Gordon, who missed recent defeats to Bournemouth and Arsenal with a hip flexor injury, was an unused substitute in last weekend's win over Brighton. But Howe was quick to clarify that his comments were not aimed at the winger.

"Those comments weren't related to Anthony Gordon, they were general," he said. "I like to think I've been consistent with that in my time as manager here, and that's not going to change now."

When pressed on whether Gordon—who is under contract until 2030—remains fully committed, Howe was unequivocal. "Yeah, he wouldn't be in the squad if that wasn't the case. As I've said many times, I don't judge that on communications elsewhere. I do that with my relationship with the player and how I see them train. I will do what is right for the team and best for the football club."

For now, Gordon remains a Magpie, and Howe is focused on finishing the season strong. "All I am looking to do is trying to finish this season with this squad in a really strong way and for the players to be committed to what they're doing right here, right now."

Whether that commitment translates into a summer stay—or a blockbuster move—remains to be seen. But for fans and fashion-conscious supporters alike, the Gordon saga is one to watch as the transfer window heats up.
