The Minnesota Wild took a 1–0 series lead with a dominant 6–1 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 1 in Dallas. Matt Boldy led the way with two goals and an assist, while Kirill Kaprizov added a goal and two assists as Minnesota overwhelmed the Stars early. The Wild broke the game open with a three-goal surge early in the second period, building a 4–0 lead that Dallas never recovered from.
This opener flipped expectations in a big way. Dallas entered with home ice and as one of the West’s top teams, but Minnesota controlled the pace, capitalized on chances, and got strong goaltending from rookie Jesper Wallstedt (27 saves) in his playoff debut. The Stars managed just one goal, coming on a power play, and struggled to generate consistent offense at even strength.
Game 1 showed the Wild’s upside when their top players click, but it also raises questions for Dallas heading into Game 2 back on home ice. Minnesota now carries momentum and confidence, while the Stars will need a quick response, particularly defensively and in net, to avoid falling into a 2–0 series hole.
This is a great NHL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
