The Orlando Storm (5-2) are on the verge of securing a UFL playoff spot this Friday night as they face the Dallas Renegades (3-4) at Phantom Warrior Stadium in Fort Hood, Texas. This special matchup is part of the league's Hats Off to Heroes initiative, honoring service members and their families.

The Storm are riding momentum after a gritty 24-23 road win over the Houston Gamblers on Sunday. Despite being outgained 415-185, Orlando capitalized on two Houston turnovers to snap a two-game losing streak. D.J. James sparked the defense with a pick-six that put the Storm up 13-3 early in the second quarter, while quarterback Jack Plummer connected with Elijhah Badger for scoring strikes of 35 and 31 yards.

Dallas, meanwhile, is looking to reverse their fortunes after dropping their fourth straight game—a 21-17 overtime loss to the Birmingham Stallions. Running back Ellis Merriweather scored twice, including a go-ahead 15-yard touchdown with just over five minutes left, but Birmingham tied it up with two minutes to go. Quarterback Austin Reed completed 25 of 37 passes for 166 yards, and the Renegades ground game added 130 yards on the ground.

Friday night's stakes couldn't be higher. Dallas enters Week 8 in a three-way tie with the Stallions and Louisville Kings for the final playoff spot. Reed has thrown seven interceptions during the losing streak, though he managed to avoid turnovers last week. On the other side, Orlando's defense bent but didn't break against Houston, holding the Gamblers to just 1-of-5 in the red zone.

This is shaping up to be a must-watch UFL showdown, with playoff implications and a special tribute to our heroes. Catch all the action live on FOX, or stream it through Fubo. UFL games are also available all season on ABC and ESPN.
