There's something about Tropicana Field that just doesn't sit well with the Toronto Blue Jays. Since 2021, the Jays have managed just a .655 OPS and a dismal 10-22 record under the dome at One Tropicana Drive, including losing 10 of their last 12 visits. Even their biggest podcast, Gate 14, has paid respects to try and reverse the jinx—but to no avail.

The Rays continued their dominant run, extending their win streak to six games and marking 13 straight contests where they've held opponents to three runs or fewer. The secret sauce? A whole lot of leather. The "Flappy Boys" have been flashing the gloves all season, and this game was no exception.

In the first inning, shortstop Taylor Walls made a stellar play to end the frame, keeping Kazuma Okamoto's double from scoring. Things stayed quiet through the third, with Patrick Corbin rolling two double plays and finishing three frames with more balls than strikes.

Then came Shane McClanahan. The lefty matched and surpassed Corbin's goose eggs, going 5 2/3 innings of two-hit, one-walk, four-strikeout ball to earn the win. Over his last three starts, "Sugar Shane" has been untouchable, riding a 16 2/3 scoreless inning streak. His wicked 84 mph curveball? Absolutely filthy.

The Rays broke through in the fourth. Jonny DeLuca drove in Jonathan Aranda from first with an RBI double, and Chandler Simpson followed with a two-out single to bring DeLuca home. That 2-0 lead was all Tampa Bay needed.

The bullpen slammed the door on Canada's Team, with Kevin Kelly, Garrett Cleavinger, and Brian Baker each earning holds, and Ian Seymour notching his first career save. Undefeated against the AL East at 6-0, the Rays are now shipping up to Boston for a four-game set at Fenway Park starting Thursday.
