With the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected David Bailey, an edge rusher out of Texas Tech.

Bailey certainly deserves everything that's going to come his way, and one of the first things that will come his way is a lot of money. While the pressure of playing in New York won't be easy to handle, the youngster will have a nice paycheck to look at at the end of the day.

According to Spotrac, Bailey will make $54.6 million over four years on his rookie contract.

Speaking to reporters about how he thinks he'll fare in the NFL, there's reason to believe that he has a lot of confidence in his ability. On the same side, he also understands that he's going up against grown men, and the game will be a lot different than it was in college.

"I'm going to be completely honest with you, obviously, there's no way to tell," he said.

"I haven't played against anyone in the NFL. You know, those are grown men, seasoned men that have been playing the game for a long time. But, you know, I'm confident in my ability. I think my main thing is just staying focused, maintaining that same hard work that I put into my collegiate career, and just taking that next step up."

Bailey will have to get up to speed fast, as he'll certainly be getting paid like one of the top youngsters in the league.
